Future of the Concordat
Mind has been supporting the Mental Health Crisis Care Concordat since 2014. Currently our work is focusing on embedding the Concordat at the local level and within new NHS systems, as well as refreshing national actions.
We are working with the Government and NHS England on what happens after Mind’s formal support on the Concordat’s implementation ends this October and to ensure the safe handover of key elements of the programme like the website.
The 26 national Concordat signatories are clear that they intend to go on working together and meeting. Continually improving outcomes and access for people presenting in need of urgent and emergency mental health care remains a significant task and key priority for those involved.
Looking forward, we are still building on progress already made across England to set standards, develop alternatives to traditional NHS, Social Care and ‘blue light’ responses to people in need and to develop all aspects of the pathway. We will keep you posted as plans develop over the coming weeks, and make sure all stakeholders involved in the Concordat are clear as to what happens after October.
